All Members of the San Diego County Sports Officials Hall Of Fame:

It’s time for our 2025 SDCSOHOF Banquet and Induction Ceremony. Your Advisory Committee has met continually toward our goal of recognizing the efforts, dedication and hard work of our new inductees. Eight new inductees will be honored at this year’s awards ceremony:

Rich Cota (Track), Kia Depanah (Soccer), Steve Espinoza (Basketball), Jack Garner (Football),

Bruce Helsing (Softball), John Pederson (Volleyball), Scott Reilly (Football), Bob Weishan (Baseball).

These individuals have been considered some of the finest officials in San Diego County. We are now 90 days away from our banquet, so please join me in honoring these officials as we move toward our 2025 banquet date.

The SDCSOHOF Advisory Committee would like to formally invite all our former inductees, family members, sports association members, and special guests to the 2025 Hall of Fame Induction banquet. We encourage all of you to join us to renew friendships with past inductees and support the new inductees as they are recognized for their achievements in their respective field of officiating. Mark your calendars and make your plans!

Meet & Greet — Monday, September 22nd, 2025, is the function where current inductees have an opportunity to meet the Advisory Committee, along with the past inductees. This event will take place at Filippi’s Pizza Restaurant, 5353 Kearny Villa Drive, Kearny Mesa at 6:00 pm. This is a very casual affair, and there is no cost for you at this function.

 

The Induction Banquet will be held the following evening, Tuesday, September 23rd, 2025. This is a great event with an entertaining induction ceremony emceed by Master of Ceremonies, Bob Chandler. The Banquet and Induction will again be conducted at the Admiral Baker Club House, 2400 Admiral Baker Rd, San Diego, CA 92124. A 6:00 pm no-host social hour will precede the 7:00 pm dinner. This event is a coat and tie affair. After the usual pre-ceremony verbiage, Mr. Chandler will introduce each inductee, followed by their short acceptance remarks. The fee for this event is as follows:

  • Current Inductees and one guest, no charge
  • Current members, and all other guests, $90.00 per person

The Sports Officials Hall of Fame website, sandiegosportsofficialshof.com, includes Banquet registration information and other details. Credit cards will only be accepted at our website. You may also pay by check. Complete the reservation form, make the check payable to San Diego County SOAC and send to 3968 La Jolla Village Dr. La Jolla, CA 92037.
