Bob Hood

Football

Bob was born in Quantico, Virginia in 1945. He has been married to his wife, Jacquie, for 44 years they have two daughters and three granddaughters.

He graduated from Clairemont High School in 1963 and San Diego State University in 1968 with a degree in Public Administration.

After his career with the San Diego Chargers. He began officiating high school football in 1979.

During his career he has officiated 6 high school championship games, as well as many semi-final and playoff games. Bob was honored to be selected to officiate the inaugural Stars and Stripes All-Star Game between the United States and Mexico in Mexico City. He still works at all levels of high

school football, as well as Pop Warner, and American Youth football.

In 2012 Bob was recognized as the Official of the Year by the San Diego High School Sports Association, and in 2016 he was honored by the Walter Zable Chapter of the National Football Foundation–San Diego as the Outstanding Football Official of the Year.

Bob has been a member of the Board of Directors of the San Diego County Football Officials Association numerous times over the past 41 years. He is currently a Chairman of the Banquet Committee and has served on the Mechanics and Crew Chief Selection Committees.

He is a founding of  the San Diego County Sports Officials Hall of Fame and he is still actively involved in the Advisory Committee today.
