Bob began officiating softball in 1958 while serving in the Navy. He has been a member of Southern California Amateur Softball Association since 1987, serving as Deputy Umpire in Chief and Administrative Umpire in Chief, South County High School Softball Umpires Association, serving as President for 12 years. He has umpired High School softball CIF playoffs, the MWC, CCAA, WCC and PCAC conferences. In 2002 Bob received the International Certification, and in 2007 he received the Southern California ASA Distinguished Service Award.
