Playing field hockey for Kearny High School, where she was MVP and a member of the first CIF all-tournament team, enabled Villa to receive a field hockey scholarship to SDSU. Served as president of the San Diego Field Hockey Association (1998-2003), during which time she was also the Instructional Chair. Throughout a 29 year career, Villa umpired numerous playoff matches, 10 CIF Championships, in addition to officiating Adult Hockey for the San Diego Field Hockey Association. Villa’s accomplishments also include the facilitation of numerous clinics for high schools throughout Dan Diego County, as well as being the recipient of the prestigious National Federation Officials Award for the state of California.
