Connie Perkins

Basketball

Connie Perkins started officiating at the age of 16 for Kennewick Parks & Recreation Youth Basketball. While attending the University of Puget Sound, she officiated all Intramural sports including basketball, flag football, softball and volleyball.

She became a member of the NCBOA (North County Basketball Officials Association) in 1985 and was quickly taken under the wing of numerous officials who assisted in mentoring her to become a good official. Connie attended her first officiating camp, on a scholarship from the NCBOA and was the only female at the camp. She was the first female assigned to officiate a boys game between El Camino and Oceanside.

She began working high school games working a number of high school playoff game. She began officiating junior college, and moved up through the college divisions until she became a Division 1 Women’s Basketball official. Connie worked in the West Coast Conference, Western Athletic Conference, Big West and the Big Sky. During her career she has worked several Junior College playoff games including a State Championship, the 2010 Community College Tournament and Championship game, D3 and D2 several D1 conference and two appearances in the NCAA D1 national tournament in 2003 and 2005.
