Ed "Sugar" Cain was a prominent basketball player for the San Diego Marines Corps (1957-1959). Upon leaving the Marines, He began his 20-year career as a basketball official. While the last five years of his career at the Junior College and college level, He officiated at every level, donating many hours officiating youth tournaments for the Boys and Girls Clubs. YMCA and various community groups.
His philosophy was to, "Call what I saw, be fair, remain consistent and always be in shape."
