A Point Loma High School graduate and member of the San Diego Basketball Officials Association. Gomes' 50-year career (1958-1968) officiating high school, Junior College, AAU, PCAA (1958-1966), National Basketball Association (1969-1971), and Wheelchair Basketball (1973-1089).
Manny was an Observer of Officials for Women's College Basketball in the West Coast Conference and Big West Conference (1995-2006).
