Nolan Harvey

Basketball

Nolan has had a long and successful career as a professional referee and as an athlete.

As a student at Central Union High School in El Centro, Ca. Nolan was named to All-Valley teams in football, basketball, baseball and track. After enlisting in the Navy and serving for 9 months in the 1940's he attended Hardin-Simmons University at Abilene, TX, and played football, basketball and golf.

His referee career began in 1952, when he refereed two exhibition games for Mexican National Team as a part of the Olympics. His passion for refereeing grew in subsequent assignments.

In 1959, Nolan assumed control of Harvey Plating Distributorship, Nolan refereed thousands of games for Imperial County High Schools and junior college, many schools in the Yuma area, and a large collection of San Diego high schools and universities.
