An athlete in both volleyball and gymnastics, Vitale was involved with CIF for over 20 years (1981-2003). Her career as a gymnastics official began in 1984, as did her involvement as a high school gymnastics coach and clinician. She served as President of the San Diego County Women’s Gymnastics Officials Association (SDCWGOA) from 1986-1994 and 1999-2000. During her final two-year term as President, the SDCWGOA received the highest level of accreditation for High School Officials.
