Rick Hausvik

Softball

Rick was born in Doland, South Dakota and enlisted in the US Navy in 1970 at the age of 17
and retired after 28 years of service as a Lieutenant Commander, USN, SC.

While in the Navy, Rick began umpiring military sports and then joined military officials, USA/ASA Softball, High School and college association wherever he was stationed.

For the past 45 years, Rick has officiated softball at all levels, from 8U recreational ball to National USA tournaments, NCAA Regional playoffs, volleyball at High School, club and NCAA Div II, as well as basketball from High School to Junior college.

Rick has been a member of USA/ASA Softball for over 36 years and a member of the National Indicator Fraternity, Gold Metals program has severed as the USA Softball District.

UIC San Diego and USA Softball SoCal Junior Olympic UIC. He was President
of the San Diego Officials Association (SDOA), Volleyball Commissioner for Armed Forces Officials Association, (AFOA); a member of South County High School Umpires Association, San Diego Basketball Association, member and board member for San Diego Federation Volleyball Association.

Rick has umpired Softball for the PCAC, GSAC, CCA, Pacwest, Big West, WAC and
Mountain West conferences.

Rick has been married to Debra (Story) Hausvik of San Diego for the past 49
years and they have two children, Jenna K Hausvik, CAPT, USN and Christopher Hausvik, LCDR,USN, NC.
