Olympic Trials swim meets which is considered the most competitive swim meet in the world were the team is selected to represent the USA at the Olympics. Bob has started several college league championship meets for the Pacific Coast Conference and the Big West Conference. He retired from USA Swimming (the Olympic NGB) officiating as one of the highest ranked national level starters. He has been the head of the start team for the last ten San Diego Section CIF championship meets.
During his officiating career, Bob led the enhancement of the professionalism and competence of the San Diego Swim and Dive Officials Association (SDSDOA), the organization that provides officials for the San Diego section of CIF. Because of Bob’s efforts and leadership, the organization is now considered one of the most respected in the section and across the state. Additionally, Bob was the Officials chairperson for the local USA Swimming LSC for six years. During that period, Bob increased the participation of officials from our LSC at all levels of competition throughout the country. Bob has been president of the San Diego section CIF Swim Officials’ association for the past ten years.
