A well-known figure in the Clairemont area, Tom was born with a birth defect that would have discouraged most people. He never ceases to amaze other with his spirit and determination.
He has given years of volunteer work as a little league umpire and manned the information desk at both Rady Children's Hospital and Kaiser Hospital, logging over 10,000 hours of calls during more than 25 years of service.
